We Desire to develop a Church that is:
Sound – Adhering to sound doctrine and New Testament organization.
Solid – Evidencing the necessary gifts for a healthy body.
Serious – Regarding personal discipleship and missional living.
Serving – Within the body and in the community.
Sending – Missions minded, equipping, and mobilizing.
A SOUND CHURCH holds to sound doctrine and New Testament Organization. SOUND DOCTRINE refers to the historical, orthodox body of teaching of the Bible. So we desire to have the Bible permeate our pulpit, education, and home study ministries. So we emphasize Biblical Literacy, Doctrinal Depth, and Theological Perspective for the purpose of better knowing and worshipping God.
A SOUND CHURCH holds to New Testament Organization. A SOUND CHURCH is led by a plurality of mature, godly men (Elders) given the responsibility of oversight (Bishops/Overseers) by means of shepherding (shepherds/Pastors). They are to Lead, Feed, Guard, and Protect the Flock. They are to Guard the Flock from Predators (outside the church) and Pretenders (inside the church).
A SOLID CHURCH evidences the necessary gifts for a healthy body. Every member exercising their talents, skills, and gifts in an attitude of true humility and a spirit of unity amidst diversity [Romans 12:3-8]. A church cannot be healthy unless every member is doing their part as God has gifted them - for the glory of God and the edification of His Church.
A SERIOUS CHURCH regarding personal discipleship, holy living, and an evangelistic lifestyle. We desire to each be "disciplined students" in systematic Bible study and persistent prayer. We desire that each be distinctive and holy in our character and conduct. We desire to cultivate intentional relationships (being "missional") for the sharing of the Gospel of Christ.
A SERVING CHURCH...within the Body and in the Community. "So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith." [Galatians 6:10] Service is Christlike, Service ennobles life, Service exemplifies neighborliness, Service demonstrates love, Service lightens life's burdens.
A SENDING CHURCH...Missions minded, equipping, and sending. We desire to cultivate mature disciples who will follow Christ last command to "Go into all the world and make disciples of every nation..." [Matt. 28:19, 20] Whether across the globe or across the street, we commit ourselves to the Mission of the Great Commission.
